Quite true generally. Good point,especially since I linked to that cassette based show.

I stream 1st to get a feel for the show and pay attention to the lineage. Reviews are a good road map but too many people get caught up in the "I was there and it was so great" mentality. I also used to tape the Dead Hour and that gave me insight into good sounding eras to focus my time.

I'm in the process of doing a complete overhall to my shows and for every replacement of a favorite like Thelma Theater '69 I try to find something new like Portland '74.
